IBADAT
Love
Reincarnate
PART
13
Geet... The word
echoed n resounded a several times making Geet shiver with terror. She instantly
pulled back n saw something she was certainly not prepared for.
Daarji looked at her with evident
shame in his eyes where as Brij was shooting daggers at Maan with his fists
tightly clenched.
Pinky
sat in the taxi her palms sweating badly. After getting her tummy full at the
party she searched for Geet but madam was nowhere to be found. Assuming her love
sick cousin to be with her Maan sir, she decided to call it a night n go home
where a surprise awaited her.
Just
as she entered the house her cell rang n it was Brij. He informed about his n
Daarji’s presence in Delhi n that they would be reaching Pinky’s house in 10
minutes or so. Pinky gulped not knowing how she would explain about Geet’s
absence to them. Brij was impulsive n had temper problem while Daarji made her
wish for a hole to hide. She tried Geet’s cell but she was not
responding.
Brij
n Daarji arrived at Pinky house n immediately asked for Geet. It had been more
than 3 months since Geet started working in Delhi n not once she went to
Hosiyarpur. Her calls were also rare so when there came some work for which Brij
had to come to Delhi, Daarji accompanied him especially to meet
Geet.
It
was 10:30 n Geet being not there was not very acceptable to the conservative
Daarji n Brij. They asked Pinky where she was n when she would be back. Pinky
told them about the business party but when it came to answering the second
question she fumbled with nervousness because Geet was not going to come there
all night given that she lived with Maan.
Instantly Daarji knew something
was fishy, he demanded to see Geet’s room which was non-existent, just like her
belongings. No cloths, no books n no Geet. Both the men ambushed Pinky n she was
not invincible or witty like her cousin n spilled the truth in the end about
Geet living in KM.
N now
here she was sitting in the taxi pestering the driver to go faster so she could
reach KM as soon as possible though she knew she wouldn’t be of much help. She
just prayed for Geet, wishing her to be successful in handling the situation
like she always did however this time it would be tough since she was already in
trouble too deep.

Maan
was confused seeing two very unpleased men standing before him. Apparently Geet
knew them but when he looked at her for explanation, her eyes remained glued to
the floor n she was literally shivering with fear.
She
was not afraid of anyone.... except for one person, her Daarji. She was his
favourite yet his supreme position in family n demeanour scared the hell out
her, especially in a situation like this where she knew she was somewhere at
fault.
But
more than his anger what she feared more was the disappointment n shame
transparent on his old face. He always looked at her with proud n delight, not
any more; she broke his trust.
Tu yahan yeh karne aayi
thi. Brij shouted giving a disapproving look to her cloths but given
the circumstances it was his least concern. Humara muh kala
karwane.
Nai Veerji, mai... She didn’t knew how
explain, it was insane n Brij, of all people won’t understand. So, she decided
to talk to Daarji. Daarji I am sorry. Mai
yahan...
Daarji raised his hand not
allowing her to speak. We trusted you. Tune kaha mai papaji ke saath
unka business nai dekhungi, hum maane. Tune kaha mai Delhi me kaam karungi, hum
maane. Bola Pinky ke saath rahungi, hum maane. Par tune humare vishwas ka galat
fayada uthaya.
Maan
didn’t understand, she said she was alone in the city n was financially weak.
But here these people who were obviously her family said that her father had his
own business n was to love with Pinky. Why she lied to them, not only to them
but to him also?
Daarji aisa
nai..
Toh kaisa hai Geet. Tu iss
bade shaher me ek anjaan ladke ke saath reh rai hai, iska kya matlab hai. Pata
nai kya kya... chee mujhe toh soch ke bhi sharam aati hai.
Maan
was in dilemma, he didn’t know if he should interfere or not. Geet had not left
him in a position to do anything. He felt like a mute spectator of a game going
on in front of him where he couldn’t interfere because he was not a player n had
no idea about the rules or anything.
Please Daarji aisa kuch
nai hai jaisa aap soch rahe hai.
Bas kar tu. Brij
stopped her n looked at Maan. Yeh sab iss ladke ki galti hai, iski
himmat kaise hui humari Geet ko maarne ki. He said having heard the end
of their
conversation.
Veerji... Geet screamed when Brij raised
his fist to hit Maan on the face but he blocked the intended punch n pushed Brij
back. Bhij staggered back n would have lounged again if Daarji wouldn’t have
stopped him.
Khud par kabu rakh.
Daarji said to Brij n glanced at Geet with disdane. Jab apna hi
sikka khota ho toh koi kya kar sakta hai.
Mai karti Daarji. Geet cried.
Mai majboor thi.
Isne tujhe majboor kiya? Brij asked his
eyes spitting fire.
Nai..!! Nai mujhe kisi ne majboor nai kiya. I.. I love
him. She confessed not looking at anyone. She didn’t want her
confession to be like this, she wanted to tell him about her feeling while
looking into his eyes so that he could see the depth of her love n not ignore it
again as he did when they had met for the first time. But like it’s said you
don’t get whatever you wish for, she also had to compromise on this
one.
Daarji mai aapse kehti thi na apne rajkumar ke bare me.
She reminded him not caring that she sounded almost lunatic.
Yeh wahi hai. When I came to Delhi I went to majaar
there I found him, then I saw him at Pinky’s official party. I interviewed n got
appointed in his company, then I called n told you about the job. She relived
all those moments while telling them about it, thinking they would understand.
Humne kuch galat nai kiya Daarji.
She
gave him shock after shock. Maan thought they first met at his office but didn’t
know about Majaar n the party. She interviewed n remained in Delhi just because
of him, she actually loved him all this while. When she had told him about her
being in love with him, he ignored her feeling assuming it to be a joke or a
mere crush.
It
was hard to believe that in today’s world someone like her could exist so full
of selfless love. For the first time he was proved wrong, he wasn’t unlucky,
‘cause of all people Geet loved him. But the question was ‘did he deserve
that?’
Daarji felt like laughing, his
granddaughter was so naive n loving n she saw everyone in that light only. But
the world was black n people waited for someone like her to trap n suck, turning
their goodness into foolishness instead.
Geet you are coming with
us. Daarji ordered.
Geet
eyes went wide, she couldn’t at any cost leave him n then live, she would die.
More than that she knew Maan needed her.
She
grabbed Maan’s hand looking at Daarji defiantly. Mai
kahin nai jaogi.
Daarji couldn’t believe it was
their Geet. Puttar this boy is not worth you. Agar hota
toh he would
have never favoured you living with him. He would have come to
us for your hand.
I myself came to live here. They were
taking it all wrong n her desperation did nothing to make them
understand.
Brij
held her hand n her breath faltered, she jerked it away. Please Daarji le..t, let me explain. She
cried, her attempts were failing miserably n she felt like her life was slipping
out of her hands.
Daarji knew she wouldn’t listen n
so he commanded. Brij le chal isse.
As
Brij started dragging her she tightly clutched onto Maan’s hand, she looked at
him, her eyes frantically asking him for help.
Maan Sir please... aap kuch karte kyu nai.
She asked searching his eyes.
Maan
looked at Brij. His hand slid down his arm where Geet was holding him. He held
her wrist, freeing him of her grip as well as her of his burden, n dropped it
down.
Take
her.
Brij
gave him a glare, he was expecting this but she wasn’t he was supposed to stop
her fighting against the odds.
I am not going anywhere. She said as if it
would make some difference. Brij dragged her n Maan closed his eyes n turned his
back to her. He would somehow live without her but she certainly deserved the
best, like her Daarji said ‘he was not worth her’.
They
stepped out n Geet looked at him screaming his name for the last time, after
that he won’t be able to hear her n she wouldn’t see him.
Her
cries n wails stopped n he stood there lifeless. He didn’t know how much time
passed then he heard footsteps, turning around dejectedly he found Geet’s cousin
Pinky there.
Geet kahan hai?
She asked out of breath.
She left with her
family.
