BEAUTIFULLY FLAWED, PART 21

BEAUTIFULLY FLAWED

Part 21

They hung up n Geet wiped her eyes before Maan could notice anything. Niks had called. Who was it with you?

Deepika. Maan said rubbing his forehead tiredly. For the casino work that is starting, she has thrown a good luck party today. Was asking me to come.

We should go. Geet said. She didn’t want to stay with him inside these four walls more n was ready to attend even Deepika’s party. It was suffocating n Geet was fearsome if she didn’t step out she would go insane or die probably. I want to go to the party.

Maan smiled. Always ready to party. He teased and Geet gave him a fake smile in return. Okay anything you want. Get ready. I will ask someone to drop clothes for me too.

A good part of their car ride to the party was spent by Geet drowned in her thoughts. There were a number of matters that were swirling in her brain, questions n emotions she had no answers or explanation for. When Maan played with her hairs n nuzzled her neck, nipping n licking the base like a candy she wanted to ask him for the reasons. The various things that were happening around and inside her was something she couldn’t comprehend on her own.

The biggest question that lurked in her mind was how could he believe her? Did he really think that all the words escaping her mouth would be true? She felt her gut twisted in an ugly knot. If death wasn’t so painful she would have killed herself long back and spare everyone the nuisance including her own self.

It didn’t help even a bit when Maan raised his head to stare intently at her face, his dark eyes boring into her. What’s the matter? He asked in his husky voice and felt her shiver against him.

Nothing. She stated turning her head but he, holding her chin, made her look into his eyes. She held herself still not even breathing as if her breath would conspire against her and tell all that she hid in her heart, was doing to him…. her betrayals, her fears, her feelings. She had so much to hide that speaking another word without the dread of blurting something out was a task. It’s really nothing that important. I would be fine once we are in the party.

Hmm… He said hoarsely n dropped the subject like he always did and sat straight.

They reached the party and just as they entered. Deepika sauntered her sexy body towards them with grace n Geet grimaced at the slutty dress draped around her generous frame.

You are finally here. She said to Maan giving him a slight hug n passing Geet an obligatory smile not waiting for her to smile back n took Maan’s hand in hers. Come I want you to meet some associates.

Maan passed Geet an apologetic smile n she thought she heard him groan when Deepika pulled him away with her. Business parties especially like this one were a bore there was nothing much apart from alcohol that Geet could enjoy, even on the dance floor there was just couples swaying monotonously on the dull, plain music. Where was all the fun? She sighed wondering if it was a bad idea to come here as her eyes fixated on Maan who was talking to someone with Deepika practically hanging on his arm. Bitch!!

A black-hole pierced her heart n grew in size, corrupting her blood then whole body. It felt her body was on fire n it stung all over. She felt tears burning her eyes. What was happening to her? Okay, she was attracted to him and she didn’t want to go back to what she did before but this was way too much for her. Give her physical pain, she would take it all with hardly a snivel but this emotional havoc that he was creating inside her was as unbearable for her as it was forbidden. She was just a whore, today or tomorrow, he would shoo her away from his life. Marry someone-probably Deepika-even if he let her stay with him it would be as his mistress, secretly coming to her once or twice in a month or so for a change.

What difference would it be from her previous life, maybe she wouldn’t in bed with a new male body every night but she would become a house breaker in a way. She diverted her watery eyes from the perfect couple that were walking towards the dance floor now n paced out, almost running, stopped only when she banged into someone in the corridor.

Woah… Geet. He held her instable body n Shaan’s sweet, soothing voice entered her ears. His usual smile vanished as he saw her face n something akin to concern marred his features. Did someone say something to you? His voice was hard n expressions stoic.

No. She said her face falling n then she smiled unexpectedly. I think alcohol is doing funny things to me.

Shaan stared at the beautiful girl before him n his heart warmed up. He wrapped his hands around her guiding her ahead.

Where are you taking me?

First, to the washroom, that running mascara is ruining your allure.

Sweet talks. Geet commented giggling.

Once having her normal appearance back she came out of the washroom where Shaan was waiting like a gentleman. Now you look great. He said pushing a strand of her straight hairs back.

She couldn’t help but feel affection coil inside for him. He was nice n didn’t hid anything. He flirted openly with her n she didn’t have to give a damn of what he would think or take her words for. Shaan must be only the man she talked this much to n wasn’t physically involved with. It was a refreshing change. Why are you so sweet? Tilting her head she asked.

Umm… It’s a born talent, darling. He stated with one of those charming smile of his which she found to be incredibly adorable.

You are very cute. She ruffled his hairs n Shaan frowned, looking left n right.

Geet, you can do that when we are alone but not around someone, okay?

Okay. She gave a mock salute.

Let’s go join the party.

Nah… I don’t want to. It’s boring as hell.

Shaan nodded, what else could be expected of Deepika. Don’t worry; now that I am here it won’t be that boring anymore. He winked offering Geet his arm n she looped her own around his.

And he was right, it wasn’t that bad now. When they reached the party hall, Shaan assistant joined them. The short girl Geet didn’t know the name of until now. Geet remembered Priya from the first party-hosted by Shaan-that she had attended with Maan. She was the only girl who had smiled genuinely at her n Geet could tell she was shy by the way she spoke to everyone apart from Shaan. After that first time Geet didn’t met her again. But now when she was there Geet got along well with her.

Both Priya n Shaan chatted freely-not forgetting to involve Geet in the conversation-n by first glance nobody could say that they were actually boss n assistant.

Priya excused herself to leave Shaan n Geet alone. How about a dance?

Geet searched the dance floor, Maan n Deepika were no more there. She found them standing with a group of people, Deepika still fastened around Maan’s arm like a bracelet. Her slightly uplifted mood went down. Shaan followed her gaze and looked back seriously at Geet as she spoke sullenly. I can’t. I don’t feel very good.

They were standing in a corner beside the bar n Shaan rested his glass on it. He brushed his knuckles against her cheek making her look at him with mild surprise in her eyes. May be you are searching the wrong place for what you want.

He inched closer n she knew what was coming. As he leaned in placing his lips below her ear, she took a breath in, her voice sounding hesitant. You don’t know anything. I am…. not what you think.

She felt his lips curve against her skin as they moved along her jaw. Or it’s possible that what you are doesn’t bother me.

She opened her eyes n her vision zeroed upon the person standing behind Shaan. An involuntary gasp escaped her lips as she saw the heated look of pure fury in Maan’s eyes.

Shaan moved back and stared right ahead at the person practically shaking with anger. But Maan didn’t even spare Shaan a glance; his blazing eyes were just glued to Geet before he marched out. Maan… She called n ran behind him.

Several times she called him almost tripping n falling on concrete ground of the parking yet Maan halted only after reaching his car. He opened the door for her and his voice was distant while he spoke… Sit inside. She obeyed n the journey back to Nikita’s place was a slow agony hanging on top of her head like sharp blade.

Again he walked inside n she followed him to the room. Maan please listen to me.

Suffocation filled him, Maan felt cramped in his own body. He removed his coat n threw it on the chair n loosened his tie turning around; she took a step back seeing his eyes red with naked anger. She had always seen him calm n composed, rarely he lost control n not once did she see him this much angry n despite her effort his words sent a scary chill down her spine.

Why? Why should I listen to you, so that you can walk all over me in front of my very eyes?

It’s not like you are thinking.

Oh yes. He said in artificial surprise. Now you think I am blind too. He was kissing you dammit. Don’t try to make it something else.

Her heart twisted for some reason n she felt the strike of anger with it. So it’s justified if you leave me n do whatever you want with anyone.

What do you mean?

Please don’t try to act innocent. I know what’s going on between you n Deepika. Whole fucking city knows it. She was there to hang on your arm, why did you take me? To discard me in a corner n have fun with her. What do you think I will stand where you left me like an obedient bitch while you fucked with someone else? If you think that, you are hugely mistaken. Two can play the game.

Her breathing was heavy as she gave him her back. Maan twisted her around his nails biting into the skin of her shoulder.

You are implying that am sleeping with Deepika while I am with you.

Bingo. Finally you got what I mean. How much more foolish a person can be Maan. All you men have the same problem. Whatever you do is right but you think just because you have a girl with you, she should stick to you and shouldn’t even talk to anybody like a good-old-slave. You can sleep with everyone n anyone you want then why can’t I?

Maan gritted his teeth. What he felt couldn’t be described as anger n a white cloud of something new blurred his sanity while a sarcastic smiled etched itself on his face turning into a nasty snarl.

I am not sleeping with anyone. For someone who appeared to be about to burst she was surprised by the calmness of his voice. His next set words surprised her even more. Because that’s your skill. You have slept with many men and because of who you are, you think everyone to be the same.

There he said it. She knew someday it would come but she hadn’t expected it to hurt so very much. The words coming from his mouth were far more painful than from any other’s. He thought her to be just the same as everyone else did. Bravely she swallowed the heavy lump down her throat. She was no different to him. The respect n care she never got, she saw it in his eyes but that was just a mere illusion. While her inside cried, on surrounding she was infuriated. She walked up to him n looked into his mocking eyes. Next she raised her hand n slapped him with all her might.

Maan held his cheek in shock n she jerked him by the collar. I have not slept with any man. You hear that? I had sex while I slept just with YOU. Nobody held me after the act was done. Nobody cuddled with me, bringing me to sleep. No man kissed me so tenderly; no man pecked my forehead like they cared. What others say doesn’t affect me but what you think does. How fucked up is that? They used me and being the idiot I am, I thought you were different.

Her lips trembled as she let the sobs escape. Tears ran down her cheek n for once she wasn’t bothered about them because her inside were in a greater mess. Geet believed she had hardened herself but she failed n this blinding ache was her reward.

For the first times he saw the wall breaking. He filled her into his embrace n she didn’t protest. That’s the most you have ever expressed yourself to me. There was a smile on his face as she buried her face into his chest crying her heart out. It didn’t matter that she slapped him what made a difference was she opened up to him.

She raised her head to see into his eyes which were peaceful now. He picked her up n placed her on the bed. She didn’t want to fight anymore, her body was tired n so was her mind. Even after whatever he said n she did, all she wanted what to close her eyes n sleep while he cocooned her in his warmth.

Maan fulfilled her wish. He closed the lights n after few moments she heard him climbing into the bed n pulling her close to him. His smell n arms wrapped themselves around her.

I slapped you. She stated unbelievingly. Why aren’t you angry?

I am ready to be beaten to death Geet, if that’s the way you are letting me in.

KHUMAARI- The Nocturnal Beast, PART 10

KHUMAARI
The Nocturnal Beast

Part 10
You Belong To Me

She was in a glaring contest.... with his back. Because Mr. Oh-so-busy n self proclaimed I-am-so-cool-and-king-of-this-damn-world was watching fast n furious with such dedication that her head had started to spin. Or perhaps the mother of her headache was she, herself, staring at his back with blazing eyes for so long without having an ounce of his attention.

Seriously, who does this guy think he was? With puffed up cheeks she complained to no one in particular. Then, who was there to complain to. She was all alone.

After he ignored her 'sorry' that morning she had been mad at him. However it was stupid to hold that anger for simply two reasons.

A. To some sane people it could sound utterly idiotic but she felt... guilty. Yeah, she really did. A small nutty part of her brain was in action and as unbelievable as it may sound, she had an idea how he felt. The flash of his emotions almost pained her when he looked into her eyes with those coal-black ones of his while she had accused him of trying to rape her. She had all grounds to, didn't she? Being a lone girl on deserted island with just a single person, a stranger, who was also her captor... How could she not feel anxious? Still, somewhere inside her chest, her behavior last night stung poisonously impairing any practical sense.

Geet feel pathetic, as if...as if she had committed a grave sin. She was ashamed of herself despite having a sound cause for what she did.

B. She was hungry.

When she had walked into the kitchen that morning he was making breakfast. Entwining her hands behind her back n making circles on the smooth, gray-paved floor with her toes, she asked. Um... What are you doing?

To someone with eyes it must be obvious that I am making breakfast.

Geet twisted her lips at his sarcasm n bit back a rude retort. Are you making some for me?
I thought you wouldn't eat something prepared by a... RAPIST.

Pointed words uttered so bluntly from his mouth made her cringe n he looked at her from the corner of his eyes. She was standing with her hands folded behind n doing something to the floor with her toes, a pout visible from the lowered head n messy hairs completing the whole view. His wolf, which was unusually down since last night even with her around, jumped up getting all life back in a moment with her one sight. See, she is sorry and is asking for food. It's our duty to provide for all her needs.

We can't forget what she said yesterday.

But she also said sorry. And just look her.

Maan raised his head completely, abiding to his inner voice. This time she was staring at him with those shapely hypnotic eyes, the pout intact.

How much he wanted to take that bottom lip in his mouth n bite into the soft flesh. She would moan into his mouth as his hands traced her bare skin under the shirt.

He growled inwardly, wrenching himself out of the mesh of provoking images. I could spare you some food.

Her face lit up with that mega-watt smile that made his heart tumble but he didn't permit any of his internal not-so-subtle reactions appear onto his face.

Pouts always worked; it did on her brothers when she was out of pocket money n needed some instantaneous funds to buy candies and chocolate. Her father was no different; of course the pout didn't make way for her post graduate. However, for trivial demands it worked mostly.

Well, talking of that. Do you have chocolate, candy or something like that?

The way he stared at her she had to check for horns on her head. Nope, absolutely flat surface. What?

Maan shook his head uttering a straight... No, as though it was nothing. But... but she hadn't eaten anything sweet since days. The taste was almost there on her tongue n she craved the dulcet heaven. Is there anything else sweet?

There is some brown sugar in the top, far left cabinet.

Before the words were out of his mouth, she had started the search n there it was staring back at her. She pulled the container down and scooped a spoon full of sugar shoveling it between her lips. Umm.... Her eyes closed, the small sugar crystals melting inside her mouth and she ravished the sweetness.

At a loss, he just gaped at her antics. She is so fascinating. His wolf drawled excitedly. Weird is the right word.

They had their breakfast in severe silence. Geet tried to strike some conversation but all her attempts failed miserably. Just a few, erroneous words which were justifiable on her part n he was using them to hold a grudge against her for so long. What did he want? For her to drop at his feet n beg. She wasn't going to do that n as stretched minutes passed, her insides burned with fury n an unexplainable longing. It was one of those moments of helplessness where she could do nothing n couldn't wait either.

Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again!
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.
Come, as thou cam'st a thousand times,
A messenger from radiant climes,
And smile on thy new world, and be
As kind to others as to me!
Or, as thou never cam'st in sooth,
Come now, and let me dream it truth,
And part my hair, and kiss my brow,
And say, My love why sufferest thou?
Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again!
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.

-by Matthew Arnold

He left the cottage later without finding it necessary to inform her where he was going.I don't care at all. She told herself. Only if I had left like that... chances were he would have made my life hell. Wait a sec, it's no different currently.

Taking another of his shirt, she took a long bath in cold water, calming her nerves actually feeling a little good. As the cramped gates of her mind opened to more rational contemplation, she tried to think from his angle. May be he took her words to heart. But then, what did he expect... her to trust him when he kidnapped her? To him though, it wasn't abduction but salvation n so her side of picture wasn't clear to him. And like he told his family was royal n such people tended to be touchier. Pride was big thing to them, perhaps everything.

Looking at it that way she had to admit that his intensions weren't that wrong. If he wanted to use her physically he could have done it far back but he didn't n the previous night too, he didn't do anything while she was there with him in the same bed. A blush crept up her cheeks. She was a girl n he was guy. They were together in bed. Still, when she had woken up in morning the thing didn't bother her as much as it should have.

She was getting used to all this.

Only this was the right conclusion that Geet was able to form. A perfect example was abuse patients. After a point of time they took the lack of mistreatment as compassion by the abuser, thinking that their abuser has finally developed some sympathy or feelings towards them n their life wouldn't be as bad anymore, where as in reality, their life n conditions were just the same. The molested person had actually become accustomed to the abuse.

Is that happening to me? God! What was she thinking; things hadn't been so bad with her n she was indeed over-reacting. He wasn't so cruel. Bigheaded, mean, arrogant... yes, but not cruel.

When he came back Geet once again decided to talk, she was even ready to apologies again but he downright ignored her like she didn't existed. And, that exact moment she made up her mind. She wasn't going to apologize because this man didn't deserve her apology, the arrogant, idiot he was.

Hence she was sitting, throwing imaginary daggers at him while he was sprawled on the couch unknown to her intentions of killing him. Eventually, too tired with her own efforts to finish him off with her unsuccessful eyes, she stood n walked to him. I am bored.

And I am not a joker. Find something else for your entertainment.

She had expected something like that only. You can't ignore me- He raised the volume n she stomped her foot snatching the remote from his hand.

Give back the remote. Maan snarled n afraid she took a step back. Regardless of the fear, she closed the television n looked at him again.

You have to hear me out.

Remote.

No. I won't give you the damn remote. Why did you bring me here when you were just going to watch some darn movie? Her voice broke n she swallowed the lump down her throat. Did you wanted a girl to show her down, to prove how superior you are. Well, here I am admitting you are finer than me. I am nothing. Tears trailed down her eyes n she threw the remote at his face to wipe her own. Thank goodness, even in his shocked state he managed to catch the remote in time. Are you happy? Will you leave me home now or at least talk to me? Because I sure can't continue like this, I will go mad.

As her chin quivered n nose became red with her whole face. Maan felt the pang in his chest. He understood that he overdid it n also that his mate couldn't take loneliness. And, right now he felt awful. The girl had the capability to make Maan Singh Khurana feel awful.

To ignore her was more difficult for him. Although her constant doubts n mistrust on him was worse. To Maan, everything was so simple. May be tough and unacceptable still simple, they were stuck n there was no way out she had to understand. To think otherwise was beyond him. He was raised with his kind, the only human contact he had was the few times when he left his place to go to nearby towns or for business related matter.

Never before he had considered human behavior, their psychology, way of living was alien to him n he didn't have any interest in knowing them either. Earlier than his mate, no one else from the low beings had affected him. They were of little significance apart from some transient gains of sex n money.

With a sigh, he made her sit on the couch n passed a tissue.

I am trying to talk to you since morning n you are just ignoring me. You know how rude is that? She questioned probing him with big teary eyes n when he didn't answer, she started to cry. Not the lady-like small sobs but brainstorming-wails like an infant. Maan had no idea what to do as she discarded the tissue n used his shirt sleeve which she was wearing, to wipe her swollen nose. One thing was sure, he wasn't wearing that shirt again.

Giving her another tissue he settled down on the couch beside her. His muscles twitched with an enormous impulse to take her in his arms n sooth her but his ego was too big a barrier to do that. You can stop... all this. I am talking to you.

There was doubt in his mind about whether she heard him from behind those loud howls that she was emitting. Apparently, she did hear him n stopped her cries. Cocking her head, she asked. You just have to say that?
Knotting his brows, Maan paused before replying. Uh, yes.
Do you know... Before she stared again Maan kept a hand on her mouth, her lips closed against his palm n before losing control he removed it from over her mouth.

Geet, I am talking to you. That should be enough otherwise we would just move in circle.
She was pained, frustrated and fuming yet he was right. You won't do that again, would you? Removing the last of wetness from her face by the back of her hand she asked, more with her expectant eyes than mouth n without much thought Maan found himself saying. No, I won't do it again.

Why did you bring me here? The thought bothered her. He claimed her to be his mate n this place wasn't his home then why was she here? Why he didn't take her to his place instead of bringing her to this island especially when he was just going to ignore her existence?

Because I didn't want you to throw all these tantrums at my place. Initially I had planned on taking you to my town. However, the night I came to for you I saw your behavior and thought better of it.

In other words you brought me here to put a belt on my neck.

If taming you would require that then yes.

Anger, disappointment mixed with misery and tinge of disgrace passed through her in brief succession.

You are ashamed of me. She stated n surprise flashed across his face for a second, he didn't deny her though. I don't understand. It's so unjust. And you have to agree with me. I mean how can you guys just see a person... n deem them to be the partner of your life n death.

That's the way it happens with us.

What if your mate is not what you wanted, what if they aren't fit for you.

Everyone has wants but that's not enough to pass them to be their needs too. Destiny looks beyond our expectations, our mates are our perfect match and there is no way they aren't fit for us.

You think I am the right one for you?

His eyes delved into her as he said... No. But that doesn't mean I would let go of you.

At least he was honest. So when are we going to your place.

From now on it's not just my place or home. It's yours too. Tomorrow a chopper would come to take us.

I am afraid of heights. She screeched.

The ride would be more fun than I expected. He smiled wolfishly n she glared at him.

What makes you think I would behave in front of your family?

You know everything n are not running like there is fire in your pants.... panties, I mean. He continued with a smirk. And you shouldn't be worried about your behavior because how my family is going to behave to you is more of a concern here.

Suddenly, she felt anxious. What kind of family did he have? Were they psychos like him or he lived with a bunch of wolves like Mogli. She smiled at her silly thoughts; wolves didn't have so much money.

Fascinating as she was with a series of emotions playing on her expressive face, Maan without his knowledge moved closer to her. His shirt that she had taken possession of was fuchsia in color and had ridden up her thighs to reveal more of her supple skin while she was busy in her own thoughts. Her skin lured him n he had to place his hand on her thigh to check if it was as soft as it declared to be.

His hand was so very warm on her cold skin and she looked at him shocked. Don't know when he came so close; his intoxicating smell flooded her senses in a blink. She kept her hand on his large one to remove it but he squeezed the flesh, his fingers tickling the sensitive inner skin of her thigh. She saw his face moving closer n closer n closer.

Where did you see me first? She asked jerking her head to the other side and standing up to maintain distance n some semblance of her sanity. You said you were in my town because of the landslide, so where did you see me?

I didn't see you in your town. His voice was hoarse so she concentrated on the words while her eyes remained focused on a very interesting vase. It was round and red with streaks going- I first saw you in Bangalore.

It took her a minute to swallow his words and she had to turn to look at his face. He was right before her, his gaze cutting n looking through her. Bangalore? But when?

Her scent was so delicious. Moving closer he held the nape of her neck so she couldn't face away again n whispered with his lips touching the shell of her ear. You forgot that night two years ago in the lounge.

Her whole body jolted with remembrance, the same creepy feeling sauntering beneath her flesh riding up to her heart clutching it in tight knot. She tried to set free but he kept his hold on her. I had tasted you then and couldn't get over your thoughts.

No, she wouldn't believe that. It is impossible. That incident was just a hallucination... that man couldn't be Maan. That's not true.

Maan blew lightly on her face creation a path down her neck, halting n resting his searing lips on the mark, his mark.

Where do you think this mark came from? He said licking it once with his silky, wet tongue. Shots of pleasure raced down her spine. As though some drug was mixed with her blood, she felt weak on her knees n spasms rocked her body. Thankfully he snaked a solid arm around her waist to prevent her from collapsing, the blazing heat from his hand burning into her was almost branding. How could he hold such extreme control over her against her will?

Do you have any idea how difficult it had been for me to stay without you for these two years?

Having a mind of its own her body responded kindly to his assault. Heat swept pooling at her core while his hand n mouth played with her. The fog thickened n she needed to clear her mind. Please... Her plead awakened him from the lusty sleep he was immersed in. Why was she always stopping him?

He sensed it correctly, her desire pulsing, hammering.... the honey-like scent of her arousal. Every time she was denying it, was he mistaking in understanding her.... assuming what he wanted to believe, what he was craving for to the extent of insanity?

Look of pure need in his eyes scared n inflamed her at the same time but he surprised her by withdrawing his hand. She fell back on the couch n held her head in her hands.
Geet waited before speaking.

God, things doesn't happen like this in my world. We don't do it like this. What I want to say is... we take time, give time. Her fuddled brain could hardly process the recent revelations n she wasn't sure if he was listening to her blabber. To confirm she glanced up n he was sitting across on the love seat, his steady gaze directed outside. She continued her rant believing that speaking it loud perhaps would make some sense.

When there is something between two people, in our world, they date or court for some time to know the person better. Whether their alliance would turn into a relationship n of what kind is their mutual decision. If both the persons are compatible together n care for each other they would get engaged after a while.  Then if everything is good and they are ready-sure-to finally commit themselves fully to the other one.... They get married, eventually.

Again when she risked him a peek he was looking back at her. His bottomless, black eyes fixed on her face making her nerves twitch. I didn't know you guys had a step by step rule book.

She raised one shoulder in a half shrug. Bond between two people who were married n claimed to be in love, for her, was just a formality, a need rather than wish. The system was designed like this, by nature n society. And she had no hesitation in admitting that she neither believed in marriage nor in love. She stopped having faith in the four letter word once she found out that her father had betrayed her mother with the same-call it a word, feeling or thing-she didn't care.

Finding a mate in itself is an ultimate commitment. We don't need days or years to know whether the person before our eyes is a part of our soul, just a glance is enough. The feeling of belonging n need is far mightier for us. And, to understand each other whole life is there.

You sound like my father. He said the same thing before getting me engaged.

It was a slip-up. She had said casually, just like that. A feral growl escaped his lips n the atmosphere changed in a second. Moments dragged before it struck her what she confessed, Geet knew she had done a grave lapse.

What did you say?

Maan couldn't control as the first rush of red-hot anger swept over him with her words. Her face was a picture of regret n he found himself shaking. Sound seized for him, time stopped. For a moment in time it just felt that in the world only the two of them were left. There was this knowledge that he shouldn't give into his instincts. He wanted to stop. But the voice of reason was pushed back and he saw red.

I am asking you something? His voice was merely a low roar arising deep from his chest n echoing in the dead silence.

Geet flinched n stood up. He was scaring her. The way his fists were clenched n the veins of his neck protruded while he gritted his jaw, his head lowered. She couldn't see his eyes. She didn't want too. Beating of her heart was clear in her ears n dread filled her while she wished she could spin the wheels of time n take the felonious words back.

How she wished to just vanish in thin air n with the same idea she decided to leave him alone. I..I think I should go. But who was she kidding-his inhuman snarl stopped her. It was a warning to not walk out on him. There was no escape.

You gave yourself to someone else. His face was devoid of emotions before he laughed. It was nothing like she had ever seen or heard. The laugh was everything that no one would ever want to be at the receiving end of. It was cruel n nasty as if suddenly the human was dead n what resided him was a cold-blooded animal. You hid it from me.

His eyes came into her view n she gasped with fear, her face contorting frightfully unknowingly as she took steps back.

Moving back was a sign of weakness n it was akin to inviting the beast to attack.

He stalked closer taking slow, predatory steps. Growls of anger departing from his mouth were not low anymore. They were loud n scratchy n she felt the lump in her throat with the wetness in her eyes. How did she get herself into all this?

She rejected us because she thinks she belongs to someone else. Painfully his insides clawed while the wolf almost cried aloud with a gruesome howl. Teach her. Tell her who her mate is.

Hairs at the back of her neck rose. It was no less than standing before a wild creature. A wrong step n she would be no more to sustain a life. The worst thing was she didn't know how to calm him. He was just fine moments ago and in a split second she didn't know what this thing was standing before her. Gulping audibly, she opened her mouth but not a word was allowed to escape as he tackled her into the wall. Her head met the hard surface with a resounding clamp n vision blurred. Pain coursed from the point that stuck all over her skull n towards her chest.

Tell her.

Teach her.

Words after words boomed in his head, getting more persistent. Splashes of anger mixed with adrenaline blinded his wisdom, making him madder.

She lied.

She hid.

Did he touch you?

Did he?

No. She half screamed-half cried turning her face away. Tears fell from her eyes as he pushed his body hard into her sticking a knee between her legs. Her hands clawed at his chest n he pinned them above her head. He used the other one to harshly turn her face towards him, pushing her cheeks inside. He looked like a ghost; his eyes blood shot n high cheekbones jutting with tightened jaw. She closed her eyes. The man scared her to no limits n without her realization she was shivering badly.

Did he kiss you?

No. Never in her life she was bared to this much humiliation. His hand went down n pushed the hem of the shirt she was wearing up. Tremors of horror filled her instantly when his hot hand cupped her sex. Please don't. There was no fight in her words, she was begging. Her dignity was her treasure. And if today he robbed her of that, she would kill herself. She thought about her family. The shame she would cause them. I didn't do anything. I promise I will do whatever you will say.

The words may have had some effect if Maan was listening. Although, right now, he was in for a hunt. Rough finger hooked at the band of her panty as he violently-pressed his chest against her with an intensity that all the air in her lungs flew out from mouth. With choked throat she couldn't beg for mercy n breathing became impossible. It was all too difficult. Heavy rock of unconsciousness weighed on her... her throbbing head made him nearly invisible or was it lack of air. She felt the panty being torn away from her.

Without a warning for her to get ready he inserted his middle finger in her vaginal hole. She cried out with the intrusion, trying to wriggle herself free, but she was too feeble. His finger brutally entered deeper, corrupting, stinging. Harsh pants from his open mouth slapped her cheek.

He found what he sought. Fleshly, scarcely ready walls of her femininity clenched around him trying to throw him out when he touched the barrier. His growl was that of victory, of eternal satisfaction.

While he left her not even a whimper came out of her mouth as she dropped lifelessly and soundlessly on the floor like a dead leaf, his faint words entering her ears.

You belong to me.
