BEZUBA, PART 28

~BEZUBA~

Update after an eon. I went practically invisible all of a sudden and you are bound to be mad at meOuch. But I was down due to some reasons. One thing or the other kept coming up n when in between I sat to type, I couldn’tCry. Sorry for being this late. Although, I can’t make up for the delay but a big update for you all nonetheless. Enjoy!Smile

~PART 28~

The servant kept their luggage in car while Geet waited for her hubby dear. Maan came talking on the phone. They settled inside, Geet wishing that the phone call would soon end.

Engine roared and the car zoomed out of the mansion gates. Geet looked back. Something felt weird, a nagging somewhere told that things wouldn’t be same when they got back. There was no way she could tell if it was a good feeling or bad yet the prominence of it overwhelmed her. Maybe she was missing dadimaa from now only. If in her hands she would have taken dadimaa along n she had even asked her but dadimaa had denied.

She looked at Maan who had the lappy open and was on a conference call now. *Babaji, inhe kaam ke alawa kuch sujhta kyu nai?*

Making a puppy face Geet took time to observe his profile. She was almost surprised at how much he had matured since the time she had first seen him. He was 29 but appeared 35. The serious, settled maturity on his face, always tightened brows, and smiles that rarely reached his eyes. One would think he carried the weight of whole world on his shoulders. But she had seen better. In last few days she had seen him smile, enjoy… live. She was the reason of that.

Was she the reason of his misery too?

There was a missing piece of puzzle. She needed to find it n put in place. It could be her lacking only. Perhaps she just sucked at being wife. But he never told what he wanted. He didn’t say he wanted to kiss her and yet she understood the heat that swirled in his eyes. He had wanted her like a man wanted a woman. There were things that husbands and wives shared, more than emotional or material bond; a connection that Maan and Geet hadn’t shared. She shook her head, feeling idiotic. Her wayward thoughts were all over the place.

*Aap kya kar rahe hai?* She signed when his call ended n he started typing rapidly on the keyboard.

Sorry didn’t get you. Maan said glancing up from his laptop.

Shifting close she signed the same again.

Ah, mai kaam kar raha hu. He answered bit shaken from her closeness.

She smiled sweety, shifted closer cornering him. *Accha phir mai bhi dekhti hu aap kya kar rahe ho.*

His muscles tensed from her body’s contact. Just a simple touch n he was smoldering. Eyes fixed on screen he tried to concentrate so hard, his head started to ache. His fingers were frozen on the keyboard. He inhaled sharply as her palm slid down his arms, coming to rest over his fingers where she caressed his skin softly. Flashes of their first and second kiss pushed before his eyes. When her lips landed on his cheek; gentle and arousing, he turned his face. Her petals dragged to brush against his awaiting lips. Electrified he jerked back n closed the laptop. Couldn’t even reply to mails when she was with him, coming with her was more than a mistake.

Geet pouted, he was just about to kiss her and she had so much desired it. Her pout morphed into a blush when he moved his gaze on her.

Maan tightly- My work is done. You can go back to your side.

*No, this spot is more comfortable.*

His glare was forced but did the job. Unwillingly she scooted back to her side making a cutie complaining face that stirred him from inside no less than her blush.

Travelling with him was so boring, Geet mulled after sometime. His head was resting back and he hadn’t moved since like ages. She shook him, hard.

Ab kya hai Geet?

*Driver se kahiye na radio on kare. Mai bore ho rai hu.*

You can hear music through ear plugs too.

*Mai jo kehti hu usse apko problem hoti hai.* She signed getting adorably pissed. Maan loved her anger, it was rather cute… puffed cheeks n red nose, her chocolaty eyes fiery. It made him want to do things- Clearing his throat and mind, Maan asked the driver to switch on the radio.

RJ’s chirrupy voice filled her car. Next song hai unn love birds ke lie who have taken the fall, par zara kehne se darte hai. Well, aise logo ko mera ek hi suggestion hai akhir jab pyaar kar hi lia toh darna kya. Enjoy the song. Song played; its melody sweet and charming.

Zehnaseeb, Zehanaseeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb

His eyes came to Geet and she grinned, moving her hands. *Yeh mera fav song hai.*

Maan- I have never heard it.

Mere kareeb, mere habeeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb

Her jaw dropped forming an O. Ignoring him, she got wrapped up in her song and started to lip sing the lyrics and imitating them through her hands in her own language.

Tere sang beete har lamhe pe humko naaz hai
Tere sang jo na beete uspe aitraaz hai
Iss kadar hum dono ka milna ek raaz hai

Maan was spellbound. No less than a ballet dancer, her hands flew gracefully making patterns in air. She was enthralling and he was thankful that he had learned ISL just around the time Dadimaa and Geet did but at his office. Geet thought with time he caught up with her sign language and still signed slowly for him when in reality he knew ISL just as well as she did.

Huaa ameer dil ghareeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb
Zehnaseeb, Zehnaseeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb

Geet found him staring at her, turning red she stopped. No don’t stop. That came as a surprise but she smiled nonetheless. If he liked she was ready to do it till her last breath. Turning towards him she started to imitate the lyrics again now her signs directed to him.

Lena-dena nahi duniya se mera
Bas tujh se kaam hai
Teri ankhiyon ke sheher me
Yaara sab intezaam hai
Khushiyon ka ek tukda mile
Ya mile gham ki khurchane
Yaara tere mere kharche me
Dono ka hi ek daam hai

She meant each word and put her everything in not hiding it. The song was apt holding her feelings for him. She wished she could cup his cheeks and kiss away each of his inhibitions, his fears, the pain she gave him or whatever it was. With the expression he was looking at her, she could read him openly. He needed her.

No power in the world could stop her then. Again without any hesitation she decreased the distance between them and found her place in his arms. He couldn’t control n held her too close, too tight as if something was going to snatch her. She felt secure, treasured… precious.

Hona likha tha yunhi jo huaa
Yaa hote hote abhi anjaane mein ho gaya
Jo bhi hua, hua ajeeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb
Zehnaseeb, zehnaseeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb

Hua ameer dil ghareeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb
Zehnaseeb, Zehnaseeb
Tujhe chaahun betahasha
Tujhe chaahun betahasha zehnaseeb

Maan didn’t know what he was doing n why he was doing. He just knew he was falling weak with each second and it had started to feel right. His heart justified every moment, the sin he was doing didn’t appeared so anymore, that was extent of his illness. Forgetting all that, he closed his eyes and kissed the top of her head becoming selfish for yet another second.

They checked into their suite in hotel that left Geet awestruck.

*We are going to stay here.*

No, we have just come to take a tour. At least he was joking and smiling, Geet thought. After getting fresh, Maan left for site visit and she was off to the venue of seminar.

She came back in the evening and Maan was not yet back.

Opening her bag she pulled out the piece of clothing that made her so uncomfortable there was no chance she was going to wear it ever. Then why had she spent half of her earning on it? Why she had purchased and packed it to bring here? Holding it over herself, she looked in the mirror. The lingerie was so short and revealing-seductive-that wearing nothing would be better rather than wearing something teasing like this. *Maan tease honge kya?* She thought the devil appearing in her head. Geet fantasized his reaction, mouth open wide as she paraded sexily in the lingerie, her lips curved in that typical tempting smile that the girls on screen gave. Maan would try to form some words but she would put her finger on his lips stopping him. Hayeee…

Geet came back to reality and made a baby face. She would probably trip on her own legs and make more of a cry face than sexy. Hell, she would not in next seven lives be able to carry something like this. *Par Geet tujhe Maan ka dil jeetna hai toh thode efforts toh karne padenge.* She heard voice in the living room and quickly stuffed the lingerie back in bag.

Her heart raced at his sight when she came out of bed room, the image of lingerie still in her mind.

Tumhe kya hua? He asked knotting his brows; she was red like a tomato and not looking at him. He prayed that there wasn’t something dangerous going on in her super active brain. After living with her for such a long time, he had come to know when she blushed and when she didn’t meet his eyes. She shook her head rapidly and he shrugged it off. He was probably being too tight and that wasn’t Geet’s fault, his own self was to blame. Even now just seeing her freshly bathed did something to his libido that was on overdrive. Dressed in regular night dress she looked amazing and his mind couldn’t help imagining her without them, silken skin under his rough hands, her delicious curves plump and smooth. His eyes blatantly roamed over her body and he actually took a step forward. Then stopped. Damn!

Speak something. His mind screamed for him to hide the slip. You had dinner?

*Not yet. Aap fresh hoiye mai dinner order karti hu.*

His heart tumbled hopelessly. She didn’t eat. Was she waiting for him? Yes, she must be like the old times. Okay. I’ll be back in 5. Maan said too enthusiastically and all but ran into the bathroom leaving Geet perplexed. When he came back dinner was there. Unknowingly, they ate less and gawked at each other more. She was drooling on him as he was just in vest and trousers while he just found his eyes stuck to her face, hair, lips and many other places on her body. It was odd because when their eyes met they would stole them thinking they were caught ignorant that the other one was doing just the same.

*Maan aap movie dekhenge?*

Geet asked after dinner when it was about time they moved to their separate rooms. A dense sadness had fallen as the end of their dinner approached and they both didn’t know how to prolong this time.

She was practically tireless, Maan thought. A trip, then arrangements for seminar the rest of the day and she still had stamina to not sleep and watch a movie. Gosh, she was awesome. But he had to deny, no matter how much his heart cursed n cried for it, he just couldn’t. She kind of anticipated his answer and her face fell like all her energy left her in that second and she got suddenly very tired. Attempting a smile that was miserable she signed.*Mai bhi pagal hu. Aap thak gaye honge, humme so jana chahiye.*

Fuck whatever reasons he had. First time he felt wrong, not for giving in but for breaking her heart and not fulfilling her small wish. He couldn’t do that, not now. Maybe later when he was strong, when they were back at home, when the night was darker n he could shun her again. Anytime. Just not now.

So what movie are we watching?

Her face lit up right before his eyes. Anything in the world wouldn’t have been able to give her such instantaneous happiness. They searched through channels and she asked him to stop on How to train your Dragon.

You have a thing for giant dinosaurs and dragons? She grinned smugly.

By the end of the movie she was curled into him, and he was aroused. Her eyes were droopy, and he was aroused. While the credits rolled her eyes snapped shut and she fell into sleep. And damn, he was aroused. All the blood had pooled down south and her hand rested on his stomach. He wished she would move it down, just a bit. Looking at her innocent face, he brushed the hairs back. Soft glow of her beautiful face revealed completely it was impossible to not compliment it. His lips on their own accord connected with her forehead and just a taste made him lose all senses. He knew he shouldn’t, it was so wrong, so wrong and yet so tempting. He kissed her cheek and finally pecked those lips which had stolen his rationality. A small smile curved on her face like she could feel him very well even in slumber. That smile was most enchanting he had ever seen on her face. It connected with him, clutched his heart warmly… the secretive, unconscious gift that was just for him.

She should have cringed and slapped him but she didn’t, because she didn’t know. Not yet.

He pulled her closer coveting for this time to not end but knowing that days were moving too fast towards an end that was inevitable. End for him, start for her.

Thousandth knock on the door was heard.

Armaan- You were never this slow? What has gotten into you?

Geet rolled her eyes as she draped the sari around. The guy was way too impatient to know that wearing a sari the right way was the toughest task. She had at last moment changed the idea of wearing a dress to the dinner party only for one reason… to please her husband. She knew how much he liked her in sari and tonight she wouldn’t leave any stone unturned.

Whole day she was busy first in arrangements then in the seminar where Maan had come for just an hour. In that one hour people seemed to surround him like hound dogs, since he was a very private person and went to rare events, his presence was a big thing.  She hated how girls were eyeing him like candy and didn’t leave a chance to go near him while she could just see him from far. That wasn’t fair, she was his wife. Why couldn’t they go hand in hand ans she be every girl’s envy? Their eyes had met once or twice when Maan wasn’t being forcefully engaged into some stupid conversation and he had smiled at her and that kind of erased all her complaints. They had to develop things on a personal level first then they could make everything public.

That in no way meant that she didn’t want to strangle Simi who was constantly trying to woo Maan and was giving him flirty looks tagging along with her dad who was an acquaintance of Maan. They were even sitting together in the first row n every time Simi leaned towards Maan something very violent stirred inside her.

Pushing all the sadistic thoughts aside, Geet quickly did her hairs and opened the door.

Armaan- Fina- Woah! He went speechless trying to form some words opening and closing his mouth like a fish.

*What? Mai thik toh lag rahi hu na?* She asked nervously.

Armaan shook his head. I- I have never seen you in… you were going to wear a dress, right? This is what you had gone to the mall for after seminar?

Geet- *Haan. Mujhe lagta hai mujhe change karna chahiye.*

Armaan held her hand before she could go back in the room to change that was at the venue where the dinner party was held. No you look awesome. More than that actually, can’t you hear my heart beat?

She hit his hand with a grin on her face feeling better. *You are just saying this because you don’t want me to back to change and take another hour.*

Armaan- Geet, you don’t know anything. Before she could comprehend that statement he pulled her towards the elevator. Now comeon or we would get late.

*You are sure that I look fine and this is not a disaster?* Geet looked down at herself as they stood outside the hall where the party was held. She didn’t want to make a fool of herself as this was first event of its kind that she was attending; on top of that Maan would be there. She didn’t want to disappoint him. Rather she wanted him to know that she could carry herself at such places and was worthy to accompany him, to be his wife. If only he gave her a chance.

Armaan- I’ll never understand you girls. You look perfect, koi tujhe kha nai jayega… ya kya pata kha hi jaye. But that’s a good thing, haina? He stuck his tongue out.

*Haan, agar wo Maan ho toh.* Geet thought grinning inside her head then turned red hitting Armaan again on the arm. They entered her hand looped around Armaan’s.

Kuch bolo toh problem na bolo toh problem. Armaan was muttering. Geet was pretty sure that Maan wouldn’t be there at the moment because it was too early and even in the seminar he had come just for an hour. But, she was so wrong. She recognized him immediately although his back was turned towards her and like he sensed her he turned around his eyes searching then fixing on her like dart on target. She understood his heated expressions only when his eyes dropped down to her hand wrapped around Armaan.

Bezuba, PART 27

~BEZUBA~

~PART 27~

That was Armaan. She signed and saw his face turning greener. She loved that greenery but didn’t want to trouble him more. *He is just a friend.* She told and had the guts to ruffle MSK hairs like he was a kid. Maan looked at her shell shocked and she combed his hairs back. Her touch made his stomach clench with need.

That brief action reminded him of something-someone-his heart squeezed as he tried to breathe and swallow the memory, never to bring it up back again.

Maan. Geet spoke worriedly. She placed her hand on his arm. His muscled flexed under her touch, eyes snapping to her. That was when she saw the sheen of wetness there. And a place inside her twisted painfully. Remorse birthed and she felt terrible for making him jealous. It was another thing that the sheer pain he was going through at the moment wasn’t because of Armaan, it was purely because of her small gesture. She signed, cursing herself, a lump forming in her throat. *I am sorry. I didn’t mean to make you upset. Mujhe maaf kar dijiye.*

Maan blinked looking ahead at the road and passing view. When he spoke his voice was hoarse. It’s nothing. You just reminded me of someone. I- never mind.

Geet was curious but didn’t say another word. She had already ruined their day. She rested her head against the window to sulk in a corner, however, his sizzling hand came down to rest on her thigh not allowing the guilt to eat at her. He squeezed and heat swished in an instant to her female parts.Don’t. It’s not your fault. I am usually not like this. I am just tired after the trip. She nodded, feeling a little better. He changed the topic. Now why was that scumbag asking you to go with him when you already told you have some important work?

She smiled and joked lightly. *He didn’t understand how utterly enlightening Godzilla could be.*

He reflected her smile and just like that all the weight lifted and she got lost in that beautiful smile of his. Her eyes widened as she remembered something. Planting her hand in bag, she pulled out a magazine and tapped on the cover asking for explanation.

Maan was clueless- What?

*Mujhe yeh puchna chahiye. Yeh kya hai? App aise nange-punge kyu ho magazine cover pe?* She wanted to complain about the eligible bachelor thingy too but didn’t as that wasn’t in her power according to her.

Maan choked on air. Nange-punge. He muttered then stared at her as if she had grown two heads. You are speaking like I posed nude. The PR team said that this would be good for KC.

*It’s almost same. Aapko pata hai college me ladkiya aapke bare me kaisi gandi-gandi baate kar rai thi. Ke aap sexy ho aur… che-che babaji, mai toh bata bhi nai sakte.* Maan was smiling at her drama but made a straight face when she looked. *Kal aapki PR team aapko kue me kudne ko kahegi toh aap kya kud jaoge?*

And she went on n on until they reached their destination. In the end Maan held his ears and she went mute, eyes big. If you have so much problem then I promise I won’t ever do it. Fuck PR team. Okay?

She blushed and grinned and nodded… all at once. He just knew how to shut her up in the most amazing ways. The feeling of pure satisfaction on her face made him the happiest man. He put on his sunglasses. They climbed out of the car and walked inside the mall which was more of a multiplex. *Aapne yeh sunglasses kyu pehen rakkhe hai?* Nobody knows that I am in Delhi yet, and I would prefer it that way only.

He guided her into the hall. Geet was damn excited as she walked holding his hand. *Yeh toh pura ka pura khali hai. Hum sahi hall me toh aaye hai na, picture toh chalegi na?*

Maan rolled his eyes but all his insides was sparkling to see her so full of life. He actually had never seen her this happy. I have booked the entire hall. Come. He said pulling her at the furthest back to couch. They settled and an attendant served popcorns, nachos and cold drinks.Do you need anything else? He asked as the hall darkened and movie started. She just clutched his hand that was in hers and shook her head overwhelmed by his care. She wished he would never distance himself and remained just like this.

Geet, the movie has started. Maan whispered in her ears when she kept staring at him. Blood rushed in her veins from his nearness while she looked at the big screen.

Movie was superb and within minutes she was totally engrossed in it. Maan could tell what was happening on the screen just by her grip on his hand. When the hall got really cold, she folded her legs up on the couch. Her body shifted close-very close-to his. Her breast brushed his arm as she snuggled into him. Breath caught in throat, he removed it from between and stretched it on the couch behind her head. It made matters worse. Her globe was pressed up against his chest now. She looked up, her lips almost grazing his jaw and sighed in dark. *I am cold.* He didn’t even try to understand it buried too deep in the intoxication of her proximity. His mind was fogged with her sweet smell, touch and desire that coursed through him like hot lava. He was thinking n feeling things that he shouldn’t.

The hand that rounded her squashed into her shoulder pulling her nearer. Mount totally compressed against his taut chest, her peaked nipple poked him. It was cold or him was something he didn’t want to know and at the moment she didn’t notice. Her folded knee rested on his thigh and his other hand wrapped around her front. *Now it’s fine.* She signed n this time too he didn’t get it. His mind was totally elsewhere. He buried his nose in her hairs, the movie long forgotten. His lips tickled her ears and she shrugged her shoulder with a giggle to pry his lips away thinking it to be a fluke. She laid her head on his shoulder, her body fitting immaculately in his arms, knowing this was the place where she belonged. Throughout the movie they stayed like that, both of them-without acknowledging or knowing-taking advantage of the dark and seclusion.

Movie ended, credits rolled and lights came back. Jolted out of the reverie they parted. His eyes slid down her body as she righted her jeans and top. She pouted unaware of his condition. *Movie kitni jaldi khatam ho gai.*They came out and he excused himself to go to the washroom. After coming back, he asked if she wanted to buy or eat something or go home. She contemplated the options thinking staying more would mean more time with him but then he had come yesterday only and was half the time busy in work, how could she eat more of his time. It would be better if they went home and he caught up with some rest.

Her eyes drifted to a group of girls who were whispering looking at them. She frowned then looked at Maan who was staring in the same direction. Their eyes met and no words were exchanged before they took off.

It’s... him. MSK. One of the girls said and they came behind him like bees behind honey.

Shit. He held Geet’s hand and rushed towards the exit but it too far away. Taking a sharp turn they entered furniture and home decoration section, the girls not far behind. Looking left then right, they ran and slid behind the curtains put on display before the girls saw them. She was between him and the wall. Both of them were panting, not making any movement other than the rapid rise and fall of their chests which they felt not just theirs but of each other too since they were almost glued from head to toe. That was close. He said and she looked up at him. Then they both laughed. She shushed him putting a finger on his lips opening her eyes wide to tell that they might get caught.

Without thinking he kissed it, the pad of her finger that lay on his lips, once, twice. Only then she noticed the compromising state they were in. Slowly she pulled her finger down with it his lower lip moved too getting pulled down. Fascinated by the sight, she recalled his kiss on her lips. She dragged her finger to his chin then neck leaving a hot trail behind. When her eyes rose to his, she saw them blazing, stormy black orbs dark, fixed at her. Without words she understood what it was all about. Titling her head, she closed her eyes, offering herself. His lips landed on hers in soft motion, while he boxed her head between his hands on the wall. His kiss swept her away in land where dreams came true. She held onto that small thread of ecstasy, closing her eyes and living the moment to the fullest. Feeling every minutest of his movement, his lips, his tongue, his body against hers, the delicious scratch of his stubble on her cheeks and chin and the little sounds his mouth made while he kissed her hungrily. His tongue twisted with hers pulling it into his mouth and she wandered his insides hesitantly then eagerly. Heat pooled in the pit of her stomach, rushing out from between her legs. She didn’t even realize when she started to respond full on and they were eating each other’s mouth.

They kissed for a long time, parting only for tiny breaths in middle. Eventually he pulled back resting his forehead on hers, her eyes were closed but she could feel his gaze boring into her. You shouldn’t do that? Opening her hazy hazels, she stared at him confusedI will go crazy. Mujhe darr lagta hai Geet. He said eyes conflicted, filled with words that wouldn’t reach his mouth. Tumhare lie. Kal agar… He closed his eyes and when opened them again they had changed. She practically felt the wall rising, growing up tall not just keeping her out but imprisoning him. She felt his pain in her each cell, pain that was colossal and it hit her hard. It never crossed her mind that something was stopping him, and it was so big.

He pulled out a hanky from his pocket then wiped her mouth stepping back, far-far away.

Next morning, Maan came down early but again no sign of Geet. She had again left for college, without telling him, that too two hours early. He was angry, irritated and glum. Taking out his mobile, he texted her. Where r u?

College!!! The reply came.

So early?

Yes. Some guests r coming so we had to reach early to do preps.

Why u didn’t tell me ‘bout it?

About wat?

Why u didn’t inform me before leaving?

Her reply came after sometime. U never tell me where n when u r going or coming. I thot that went both ways.

Maan read that twice and was speechless. Her each word was true. What right he had? If he could he would tell every second of his life to her but his miserable life had nothing for her n the lesser she knew the better.
When he didn’t reply anything she again texted. Maan? Mera wo matlab nai tha. It was weird telling u every time about my whereabouts n bother u. I got the idea that u r not interested in all this. From now on I’ll tell u if you want.

He smiled sadly reading the text and replied. No, its fine. U carry on. TC. He hated himself for behaving like this and interfering in her life. He couldn’t do this.

She kept the phone inside her bag. Sometimes he confused her so much. He wanted to do everything for her, give her all, take her worries, solve all her problems but he wasn’t going to tell even a bit about himself, wouldn’t share even an ounce of himself with her. And she caused him pain. Last two days she had seen a new side of him. He could be laid back and naughty, have fun like normal people, could laugh and smile and he could live life normally, happily.

But how did his time ended with her? With pain, him taking two steps back for taking one ahead. No. She wanted him to be happy. In years that she had spent Geet had learned to adjust, give him space and somewhere she had come to not expect what she couldn’t have. Maybe she was just not right person for him. A village girl, raped once, abused by family… who wasn’t properly educated until he stepped into the picture. He married her to SAVE her, gave her a life that girls of her age lived, provided her with everything. And that was enough, she told herself. You loved your idol, fantasized your hero but that didn’t mean they were yours.

And she wouldn’t give him pain or dilemma or guilt if that came out as a result of their togetherness. It was also good for her if she accepted the truth that perhaps they weren’t meant to be. She wouldn’t get hurt if she started preparing her heart for what was about to come.

Couple of days passed and a silent, mutual agreement between maaneet was going on to maintain distance. It was Friday night when Geet came to Maan.

*Maan mai Noida jaa rai hu 2 din ke lie. Parso waha ek business seminar hai and I had volunteered to help in its organization since we are also attending the seminar.*

We?

*I, Armaan and two other interns. Akshay veerji said it would be a good exposure for us. I guess you are also going?*

Yes. No, despite being invited he wasn’t going but now he had to. Have you booked some place for stay?

*No, not yet. We’ll go and take rooms in some hotel.*

I will book for you.

*There is no-*

Geet, I was just going to book for myself I’ll do for you too. You can’t stay alone. He laid taking out his mobile to prove his point.

*No. I’ll have friends.*

Yeah, that scumbag. He thought bitterly and continued. And we can go together. I have a site there so I’ll leave tomorrow with you to see how the work is going on there.

Excited at the prospect of going with him she almost nodded instantly but then she recalled what the outcome was last time and felt angry on herself and on him. *Mai khud chali jaogi. Since I and my colleagues have already decided and done arrangements.*

Then inform them that your family has done ‘arrangements’ for you and they can go on with theirs’, just leave you out.

He wasn’t going to give up. He wanted to go with her. Trying not to but failing at it, she felt butterflies fluttering inside her stomach and against her previous judgment she nodded.
