KHUMAARI

The Nocturnal Beast

This part is actually for Shru di's bday. Although I got late by centuriesOuchOuch. But still if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have updated even nowConfused. I hope that countsTongueLOL Nonetheless, I love u diHug

Part 18
Protection

Her eyes wouldn’t open, as if her lids were glued together. With great difficulty she caused them to cooperate and flutter open. Fluorescent circles danced around her vision before she could focus on anything. For some time her mind was a blank slate devoid of any thoughts or sensations.

A pukey smell like rotten fish and eggs entered her nostrils and bile rose in her parched throat. Hand flying to mouth, dry heaves wreaked her body to settle into hazy consciousness. Bit of wet sludge made its way out, she sagged back against the rocky wall feeling like her gut had been vomited out.
Then she felt something else.
The pain.
Sheer and deep in her left thigh… a sting that had her yelping miserably. Instinctively her fingers probed the spot but there wasn’t any injury, not one that she could see, but it hurt so much. Staring around in bewilderment she tried to figure out where she was. The dingy, dark place was moist n reeked bad nothing like the warm, bright room where she had woken up every morning since the time she could remember.
Slowly, steadily, drops of water kept crashing onto some unknown spot, the noise of it loud and maddening. Tip-top. Tip-top. Her head snapped in the direction where a squeaky sound came from.
Hands clasped to ears to block the sounds and eyes shut tight; she pulled her knees closer rocking back and forth. After a period of misery, visions began to play in the hidden crevices of her head, lucent yet spine-tingling. She held onto them. A young girl played in green fields, a man-big and brawny-bounding joyously, trying to catch her. Their laughter filled the fields as well as her mind. They turned around big, happy grins on their faces waving hands in air calling for her to join them. She started to walk towards them.
The door opened with rasp.
Despite her fierce mental attempts to not let them go the images began to flicker, evaporating in no time. She pressed her palm to forehead probing her mind to go back to that place again. Back to that young girl and man.
I have brought you food. A voice cooed. It belonged to the person who had entered the room scaring her lovely imaginary. From the sweet, thin voice and silhouette in dark she guessed it was a female.
She came and sat beside her, soundlessly placing an unshapely plate full of food and a crippled glass of water on ground. My name’s Sheen.
Not interested in knowing the name of an intruder she turned her head away. When the next time Sheen spoke her words were hesitant. Why don’t you… eat this?
I don’t want to eat. She twisted her lips shifting away like a stubborn child. I have been told to not take anything from strangers.
Oh, really? And who would give you such an advice?
Her cheeks burned. ‘I am your mate.’ Those words ringed in her ears. He uttered them every day when she woke up looking at him confused. He never got pissed and or lost the tenderness that his face held while he spoke those four words which were followed by a sweet brush of his lips over hers. My mate. I live with him in his house.
I see. It’s only right to heed him. But if you told me your name as I have told you mine we won’t be strangers anymore. I know you are hungry and I don’t want to scare you but there is no certainty when next you’ll have something to eat. As it is, I have not told my mate that I am bringing food for you, god forbid, if he found out he won’t be too pleased.
Why would you do that for me? She covered her mouth in amazement. This female whom she had never met-without knowledge of her mate-had brought food for her well aware that she might get in trouble for the same. Thank you.
If anything you shouldn’t thank me. This is the least I can do for you. Red hair fell over Sheen’s shoulder shielding her lowered face. She tucked them behind her ears and raised her head giving a faint smile. So, what is your name?
After a second’s thought she came up with. Chhavi.
That’s really a sweet name, Chhavi.
She blushed and stared at the food, her stomach grumbled. Sheen smiled and pushed the plate towards her. Go on.
Chhavi ate with vigor, she actually was famished. She grinned at Sheen once done, wiping off the beads of water that had stuck above her lips. You look sad? She said cocking her head. Surely those were tears in the female’s eyes. She kept her hand on Sheen’s genuinely concerned. Is something wrong?
No it’s… nothing. Sheen blinked and Chhavi smiled.
Yeah. The yucky smell is eye-burning. She made a face.
Feet shuffled outside their room. Hurriedly, Sheen collected the plate and glass from the soggy ground. I have to leave.
That made her panicky. No, don’t go. This place’s scary. There was something in that corner. She pointed to show.
No I can’t stay. The door opened behind them. I’ll come back I promise. To assure her Sheen attempted a smile but it wasn’t reflected back. Chhavi’s heart was beating fast. It was the man from whom she couldn’t take her eyes off in fear that he would chose that moment to strike. He was of average height, thin, with shaggy hairs appearing like they hadn’t touched a comb since last year. His clothes were dirty and tattered and he was most comfortable in them. But all that wasn’t really the scary part. His eyes-lit with naked hunger-was what could be called terrifying about him.
Warming up to the enemy, uh? His voice was just like him, tinny and creepy.
Chhavi saw Sheen walking to the man; her strides were small and stiff. If she could, she would have warned Sheen to not go near that man however she was too scared to speak.
She looks juicy I must say. Maybe I would also befriend her before devouring that delicious body. Who knows it might get me some additional favors. He eyes came and rested on Chhavi licking her body in a languid hiss of terror that she had never experienced before. As his mutilated lips pulled back in show of yellowed teeth, she ducked her head between her knees, wishing the darkness to swallow her so he would move his eyes away.
Somebody snarled. Collecting all her might, Chhavi peeked to see what was happening. It was Sheen who had made that warning sound, even the guy looked surprised. Chhavi eyes bulged out when Sheen neared the creepy guy and said something to him in a whisper.
Whatever she had said wasn’t friendly because his face contorted in an ugly manner. You bitch.
If Sheen was insulted she didn’t show as though it was usual business. Without another word or glance she walked off. Muttering some profane words the guy closed the door.
Everything quieted down apart from the dripping water which didn’t bother her as much as it did earlier. Resting her head back, Chavvi felt her heart rate decreasing. Only problem was the dark, she wasn’t very fond of it. Her thigh still stung and a corner of her heart weighed heavy, she clutched the spot and closed her eyes. To her mind’s shadows she was used to. Although it was never dark outside, there was always a man, her mate, to enlighten everything.
She had always known he too would leave her someday.
Not wanting to think about him anymore she went back to that man and girl of her imagination. No matter many how people came and left, these two would never abandon her. She had them trapped in her mind.
Sun had started it’s descend down when Geet had left the Den with the three Weres. Now completely swallowed by horizon; last glow of the giant ball was overtaken by night’s flare. On the uneven trail their car bounced like a heavy ping pong ball unable to free itself from the ground. Every now and then it jerked riding over some colossal hole in ground and curses flew out of Rudra’s mouth.
He sat in front with Garv while she was seated in the rear of the surprising small car with Maan.
Her hand remained in his tender yet firm grip like he was afraid she would jump out next second and take off. Caressing his rough skin she tried to reassure him, his eyes snapped to hers, thick lashes rising to reveal big, black orbs. He was so beautiful in all his masculine magnificence. His actions were somehow far more charming though she thought as he took her hand to his lips kissing the back and then rubbing his cheek over it. Awwee… he was so cute but she won’t say it in front of his father and bro or he would kill her.
Maan was on the edge from the moment when Rudra had said Geet had to go with them to Kaya who apparently was a witch. She didn’t know why Maan was so unnerved when he was going with her. She was actually a bit nervous herself, although, she had no doubts that he would protect her from any harm. Keeping her free hand on his thigh she squeezed. If 4 weeks ago somebody had told her that she would behave like this in future she would have scoffed and laughed at them but now sitting here it felt like this side was always a part of her just that she had never known about it.
God, she was losing it completely.
He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She tried to hold back a stupid grin but failed.
Your smile does something to me? He whispered in her ear, tickling it with his warm breath.
She blushed. What something?
I’ll tell you tonight.
Now that was a dangerous promise, one that made thrill and excitement roll inside her.
After Karthik and Maan’s X-mate-to-be had left, she had a long conversation with Maan. Geet was upset, uncharacteristically. She shouldn’t have been but she was, and there was no use denying it. Regardless to say, it was all Maan’s fault. He should have told her about Lovina so that when his ex appeared she wouldn’t be so clueless and unprepared.
There was nothing to tell. He had said at her very vocal displeasure.
Someone was promised to you Maan. Without me in the picture she would be in my place.
Don’t tell me you are feeling bad for her.
Yes, she did. But the feeling was limited to just that. She felt bad like she would feel for a reality show contestant who didn’t win the prize money. Nowhere this little empathy was compared to the primal emotions which claimed that no one else-NO ONE ELSE-but she was the right companion for Maan. He was hers n only hers.
How I feel is irrelevant. What matters is that you hid the truth. You… she poked a finger against his chest. Said that mates don’t lie to each other.
Excuse me, I lied? You have to be crazy.
Now I am crazy. She stomped her foot idiotically. Of course you would say that now since your TRUE mate was here for you.
You are my mate. She took a step back a bit stunned by his fervent reminder. His eyes softened the next second and he pushed her down to sit on the couch. Kneeling before her on the floor he cupped her face in his big palms.
You know, even I if couldn’t smell and sense your distress, I would have known how you feel. Your face is too transparent.
She was offended but bit back a retort as he studied her eyes like they would confide in him all secrets of the universe.
I know me not telling isn’t what’s bothering you to the extent you are exhibiting. It’s something else, isn’t it?
Why should I tell you? Why should I bare myself only to-
Shh… He pressed an efficient finger to her plump lips. That’s not what I am asking you. I want to know how you feel. It’s not an unfair trade, sugar. In return I will tear myself open for you. But you have to understand that it has to be important for me to bring it up n tell you. Now tell me what is it?
Her hazels were unsure as she spoke. She was going to be your mate. You have been with her for don’t know how long and she belongs to your world unlike me. You were both promised to each other, right? I have no idea what that means. Were you guys romantically involved or if you had ever… slept with her? Her eyes bulged out in horror listening to her own thoughts.
Maan kissed her palms and some of her anger dispersed in thin air. You couldn’t remain angry when this guy didn’t want you to.
We weren’t romantically involved to say the least. We were friends nothing more than that. The alliance was fixed by our fathers when she was born. Lovina is almost as old as she appears so we haven’t been together for that long. Although I would admit that I kind of saw my mate in her when she reached adulthood. She’s of royal linage and is beautiful, perfectly groomed-
I got the idea. Geet grumbled and could tell Maan was having a difficult time holding back his smile.
Yet I didn’t mate with her when I could have as that would mean letting others make decisions for my future and blow up some darn responsibilities over my head. Even if that wouldn’t be the case, I just couldn’t bring myself to sleep with her, she is beautiful and all but at the same time too sensitive and fragile. She is a friend, has grown before my eyes and I couldn’t commit with her without being sure that I was completely ready. And I was never ready, until I met you and realized why the perfect wasn’t so perfect for me.
It was like being hit by bullet, the certainty I felt upon seeing you. Today I regret leaving you that night when we met for the first time. Following two years I had loads of time to repent and burn in agony yet I knew we would meet again and we did. I don’t understand why you feel threatened by some other female. He enquired resting his chin on her lap and staring up at her with genuinely confused expressions.
I am not threatened. She scoffed. Oh, he looked so adorable. Her beast, tamed and soft just for her. I just- she started massaging his thick, slightly curly locks and he buried his face in her lap, groaning. The sound vibrated against her skin reaching forbidden places making them clench with need. I just feel- I don’t know. It’s hard to explain.
Hmm, ‘am listening. His voice came out muffled. He kissed the inside of her thigh over the cloth.
I guess I got a bit insecure. She admitted grudgingly and pouted. It’s new for me, all these feelings. I am sorry I behaved like that.
His head rose up at that and finally he sat beside her. Burying his hand in her hairs he brought her face close to his. If you ask me I think that was too hot… you, standing up to me, pocking my chest fearlessly. No female would do that. And all that anger was for me. Because you thought I was with someone else. That’s makes me feel so special.
She had to be dreaming because there was faint redness on his cheek, that made her want to kiss his cheek. Geet found out that she wasn’t just thinking but actually doing it.
Do that again. He said eagerly. Blushing, she kissed his other cheek.
Again. He breathed. She leaned in to kiss his cheek again. No. In the center.
Their lips had just met when they were interrupted by a knock on the door. Maan was furious and the servant would have been good as dead if it wasn’t for Rudra who was calling them downstairs.
Maan’s dad cursed again breaking her thoughts. These humans are good for nothing and so are their unreliable inventions. Put these things on a little test with the wilderness and they will show you their real face.
Dad… Garv reproached and Rudra seemed to recall that there was human sitting with them in the same unreliable invention.
I didn’t mean to offend you, dear. Rudra said narrowing his eyes in sincere apology.
Its okay, Mr. Khurana. You don’t have to watch your tongue every time with me. You can curse humans; I’ll live through it somehow. Geet teased.
Rudra scratched the back of his head sheepishly and Geet noticed not just Maan but his father was equally adorable.
Maan pulled her into him and she rested her head on his shoulder. While his hand moved up and down on her arm, she sighed dreamily looking into his deep, black eyes. He didn’t like her attention wandering to anyone else even for a few seconds.
Maan…?
Yes, sugar.
That cutesy nick name again. She would enquire why he called her that, although not now, she didn’t want to get distracted before she could ask one very important thing. Why would your parents decide a mate for you when werewolves’ mates are predetermined by fate?
You always don’t get to find your predestined mate. It’s rare fortune now. Since start our mates were already decided by the forces of the sky but then there were only few packs and they were all closely located and finding your mate wasn’t so hard. With time, packs dispersed around the world due to various reasons- search of food, shielding our existence. Mostly Weres don’t step out of the pack spending their entire life in the area where their pack dwells. Royals do go out because they have to but other than that we are very private creatures and don’t like to go away from home so predestined mates meeting is not common anymore.
Then what do you do?
Garv spoke glancing at her in the mirror while driving. Not meeting our predestines doesn’t mean there aren’t others we can fall for. If someone is the one for us we take them as mate like humans do, it’s just not that slow. We are faster, sometimes one glance is enough and sometimes a few hours of togetherness, just both the Weres have to be adults. Our mate-detecting senses develop only once we reach adulthood.
And what if you meet your predestined after mating with someone else? That would surely cause some serious problems.
Nah-uh. A Were takes only one mate in his or her life time. Once we mate someone else, the connection with our predestined is severed. We wouldn’t even recognize them when and if we ever meet.
So if Maan had chosen Lovina before meeting me then he wouldn’t have…She trailed off looking back at Maan.
He nuzzled her neck kissing his mark making her blood sizzle. I didn’t chose Lovina and would never have, n not just her but nobody else would have been able to take my heart. Only you are the one.
His heart… she had his heart? He had never confessed that. She felt like the luckiest girl on the planet. Not just the planet but the entire universe, even aliens would envy her. From the corner of her eyes she saw Rudra smiling in the mirror trying to pretend that there wasn’t a mushy-gooey moment going on in the back seat and Grav had a weird look on his face which she couldn’t discern.
From far only the lit houses were visible, their glow dim but unmistakable.
What’s that? Geet asked.
Witches’ abode. Garv answered because his brother was too busy playing with his mate’s hairs and kissing her. She was trying to resist him for the sake of two people in the same car but Garv could tell she liked it as much as his brother did.
It was sickening to see them like that because he could never have it. Also, he couldn’t bring himself to trust the human completely. Out of the entire world, Maan was the last person he had ever imagined to behave so love struck that too with a human but seeing their affection blossom made a deep gash ache inside him.
Parking the car in front of the witches’ houses, Garv gave a honk to inform them of their arrival. As if they wouldn’t already know about them coming. Still, they treasured their privacy just as the werewolves did, so giving them a signal was for better.
Rudra and Maan stepped out of the car. Geet, though, was restrained. As she stuck her head out, Maan pushed her back inside.
What the hell? She shrieked. Maan sniffed the air and observed their surrounding for any signs of danger which was the right thing to do as the witches lived good distance away from where the werewolves resided. In the same territory but as further apart so as they didn’t have to cross each other’s path. Considering what was happening lately it was better to be safe than sorry.
Once sure that there wasn’t anything that would harm his beloved mate, Maan let her out. She glared at him with puffed up cheeks and Garv almost gasped when she slapped his arm. Nobody dared to touch Maan, slapping him was a farfetched thought. To his utter disbelief, Maan just smirked not minding at all. Instead, he laced his fingers with hers. Let’s save the spanking for bedroom, okay?
Geet’s whole face flushed, she still didn’t let go of the anger-a pretense-lamely scoffing at Maan’s idea.
How is this place alight when there are no light sources? She asked bewildered, staring at the three houses ahead.
They looked like modern huts, standing in middle of a small clearing, all the three structures were identical- made of wood and appearing ancient yet stalwart to stand against roughest of perils. The triplets glared at the night with white light that lit up the verandas without any bulbs or lanterns.
Magic, obviously. Maan spoke.
As they climbed the steps of the middle house, Garv’s heart thudded fast. There was a reason he had readily volunteered to come along and he wished to get to see that reason.
A thin, short witch conservatively wrapped in a cloak opened the door without them knocking. These witches were creepy as hell, they knew everything, Garv thought anxiously.
Welcome. She bowed and smiled nervously.
They were ushered inside the living room which was decorated with antiques and jars on shelves that nobody would want to know the contents inside. Garv had once or twice visited the place and there was a scent mixed in air that made just standing inside the house very soothing. He guessed it the mild scent was of simple cinnamon that permeated the air or it could be a chant or something to partly intoxicate the visitors so they wouldn’t try to be naughty. Or maybe, he was just being overly anxious for no reason.
Maan was equally nerved, unlike their father who seemed perfectly at ease. Geet was scrutinizing the area with curious gaze flying about all over the room.
Greetings, sire. Kaya said bowing to Rudra in a similar kind of clock. She was the eldest witch, nobody knew how old she really was and she didn’t reveal it either by any means, always carrying herself with elegance and dignity. In her young days she must be hell sexy not like she came across very old even now.
She bowed before Maan next then Garv and in the end, after a pause, in front of Geet. The new addition to the family in form of a human just like we had heard. You are heartily welcomed into our little abode, my lady.
Not knowing how to respond, Geet gave a little bow herself. Thank you.
Females or males of any kind never did that. Witches were below Werewolves because the Weres gave them protection and a place to live. They were to serve. While humans loathed them completely so there was no question of giving them respect.
The little gesture of reverence pleased Kaya to extreme degree because she smiled openly. To see such an emotion on her face was unusual because all she ever did was to give a tight lift of lips in lieu of a smile. A humble personality behind a beautiful face. You are indeed a lucky male for her own self is unknown to her. She told Maan.
There she goes with the incomprehensible insinuations. Garv rolled his eyes.
Maan’s chest puffed up as he tucked his ‘humble-beautiful-mate’ into him proudly. Geet blushed and Garv wondered if she suffered from split personality. They settled down and he looked around for what he had come for, luck wasn’t on his side because he not as much as got a glimpse.
Oh, I see. Kaya said once Rudra explained the situation relating to the recent attack at Vidhuat’s place and Chhavi’s apparent abduction. I would have known if somebody had trespassed through the shield.
The Werewolf territory was encompassed by an invisible shield that the witches had erected with their powers. Any unwanted guest who didn’t belong to the werewolf pack or the witches couldn’t breech their territory even by mistake without the witches instantly knowing and the message being passed to the Weres in no time.
Only a person from your clan and my eleven witches can come n go freely. And them not having any scent is probably a work of concealment spell. I can assure you that none of my witches has helped someone with malicious intent.
That much I am well aware of, Kaya. You don’t have to assure that to me. You have been part of our clan for a long time now for me to mistrust any of you. I have no doubts over your loyalties. Rudra told in his effectual tone.
But it is done by a witch. Maan spoke. If a witch can erect a shield then another can weaken or dysfunction it too.
I am afraid not. It’s actually not a violent magic to stop or restrain and rather a revealing one. A plus of such magic is though they are not much powerful; they can only be eradicated by the ones who have made them.
That makes no sense.
I suppose it doesn’t. Will you please ask your mate to not touch anything there?
Geet had made her way to shelves with jars. She stepped back at Kaya’s censorship. I am sorry.
She was just looking. Maan jumped into her defense.
Err, if you don’t mind can I know what’s there in them? Geet asked with big hopeful eyes.
Ingredients for spells and potions.
Like?
Wild flowers, herbs, bat wings, snake venom.
Geet made a face. So how do you it? Put everything in a giant vessel, chant spells or the spells are prepared some other way? Only witch can do it? Can’t I learn them too?
Maan rubbed his forehead irritably because Geet wasn’t looking at him to see his glare. Is she always this… Snooping? Nosy? interested?
Yeah, she has a knack for asking questions. Maan said finally able to pass Geet a firm glare which lost its intensity as she looked at him with a pout.
While Rudra, Maan and Kaya got tangled in another conundrum of ‘whos’ and ‘hows’, Garv discreetly crept out of the room into a narrow passageway which was mostly dark and held more shelves against the walls on both sides cramped with spell books and jars. At the end of the passage was a door and a part of him knew that his destination lay there. His wolf growled just as he set foot inside the room. An insane wave of excitement nearly had him stumbling. He could recognize her even when her face was not turned towards him; she was under a sole ray of light illuminating her tall, slender figure. Her silken, black hairs were straight, hanging past her hips.
He had an overwhelming urge to run his hands through them, to trace the enticing contours of her body. And he did.
I told you it’s not here- Her words died in her mouth when she felt an undeniable male touch on her back through her hairs. Heavy breathes licked her skin. She turned around with a jerk. Witches had no smell, until you took a whiff up close. Her scent was just like the last time, delicious and minty. It made his body tingle in ways that would scare her if she came to know about them.
Hi… He smiled to calm her nerves and his as well. Don’t know why he seemed to terrify her because she stared at him like he was some ghost.
Gulping she opened her mouth although words failed her and she kept looking at him with expressions that had his wolf flinching dejectedly.
You…you… shouldn’t be here.
When she tried to flee he blocked her exit cornering her against a wall and shelf. She was breathing so fast he could hear each intake and release.
How is your leg?
It’s fine. She said in a small squeal. What exactly does she think of him?
He titled her face up. Her skin tone was on the darker side just like Kaya’s but each inch of her was smooth and buttery. Her features were sharp from eyes to lips; she could be a painting of Picasso for all he knew. Standing here with her almond-shaped, black eyes staring into him he realized why they were called witches because they were born to bewitch.
He traced her lip wanting nothing in world but just to kiss her once. He could see the desire swirling in her eyes. He felt her hands on his. No more did he wait taking her lips into his. Mother would kill me. She said giving him just a brief taste. Please leave. His mind was fogged.
Only if you would promise to come by the river tomorrow morning.
No. I can’t.
Yes you can.
He knew he was acting pushy. However considering his wolf’s plan for her were more than what one would call pushy. So this was all she could bargain for. One thing was for sure, though, he would have her. His wolf wouldn’t rest in peace until he had her spreading those long legs to engulf him in her heat.
A small thud had their eye lock breaking. What are you doing here?
I was just taking a stroll. Geet said.
The witch shrugged out of the corner. Before she could leave Garv grabbed her hand.I’ll be waiting for you. He let go and she scurried away.
What’s that?
Geet picked up the book pushing it into her jacket. A book. Duh!
You are stealing?
What, no. I am just borrowing.
I don’t care as long as you don’t get us trouble.
It’s better if you don’t talk about trouble.
Geet had to admit the girl, witch, was gorgeous. No wonder, Garv was smitten by her but she did look kind of scared. Happened, when a werewolf showed interest in you. They weren’t very comforting.
Where were the two of you? Maan asked as soon as Geet and Garv came back.
Looking around. Geet told. You have a nice home here, it would look better if you would keep it more illuminated.
Maan coughed and she gave him a ‘what is your problem look’. He had problem with everything. And yet he had defended her earlier instantly when Kaya had scolded her. She was just looking, it wasn’t a big deal. Not every day you came to meet a witch.
So when can we do it? Rudra was asking.
Do what? Geet wondered. She had missed a good amount of conversation in her fascination with the books and secret contents of the jars.
End of next month, there is going to be a blue moon. A perfect day for the union. Have you taken her?
Not yet. Maan said.
No, they couldn’t be talking about what she was thought they were talking about.
Kaya nodded. The official mating ritual can be done on the night of blue moon. It’s most auspicious for your kind, one that would mark a perfect union.
Mating ritual? Geet almost had a heart attack. That was why Rudra had brought her along.
Maan looked at her lovingly and she had never seen such blatant happiness on his face. He grinned at her and she faintly smiled back. She wouldn’t throw a rash fit about it. She would be rational and talk to Maan calmly.
They started to leave. At the front door, Kaya held Geet’s hand and for a moment Geet thought she had been caught for taking the book. My lady, be ready for the change. She whispered in her ear before shutting the door on her face.
A chill ran up Geet’s spine. What was that supposed to mean.
What happened? Maan jogged back up the steps to take her with him because she was standing immobile on the porch.
Nothing. She held his hand in a tight grasp.
He kissed her forehead. It might be too fast for you but don’t be afraid because I am here. He dragged her to the car and she let him.
