PART 11

Ab thik hai. She said brushing his sleeves with satisfaction.

Accha ji... Maan pulled closer. agar aisa hai toh, what’s this? He ran a hand on her bare back. She shuddered as his large hand moved over her soft skin. Kisi ne dekh lia toh? He mocked playfully n his breath brushed her lips.

Toh aapko kehna tha na. She felt out of the world to see his possessiveness. I promise to not wear backless again. She said with another blushy blushy smile n left from there. Maan was bowled... Geet century n he out on zero. God, he even loved this sweet defeat.

Maan met his friends after like centuries... He knew Geet did it he was also aware that the decor was also by her as it had her touch.
Geet got busy in making sure that all guests were enjoying the party but every now n then her eyes strayed to Maan. How could someone be so irresistible? She asked herself with a sigh.
The perk guitar chords were played by the live band, with the change in music to a more soothing one... couples took over the floor in centre. Maan looked at Geet looking dreamily at the couples... His legs moved on their own accord. He offered his hand to her n she looked at him with the same dreamy look in her hazels.

Surkh wala, sauz wala, faiz wala love
Hote hai jo love se jyada waise wala love
Ishq wala love

It indeed was a fairy tale for her... Didn’t fairy tales had prince charming n here her prince was standing before her, so lovingly offering her a dance amid crowd, he only for her n she only for him. She slipped her hand into his n he pulled her to the dance floor.

Hua jo dard bhi toh humko aaj kuch zyada hua
Ishq wala love
Ye kya hua kya khabar yehi pata hai zyada hua
Ishq wala love
Agar ye usko bhi hua hai phir bhi mujhko zyada hua
Ishq wala love...

Their body moved in sync, both lost in each other. Lost they may be, yet knew every coming move of the other like just another body part. Each hit on the keys of piano was met perfectly by their steps as if they were practicing it since eternity.... But it was the language of love which they were speaking though their eyes, there touch n their moves.

Meri neend jaise pehli baar tooti hai
Aankhein mal ke maine dekhi hai subah
Hui dhoop zyada leke teri roshni din chadha
Ishq wala love

Jhanke badalon ki jaali ke peechhe se
Kare chandani ye mujhko ittala
Leke noor sara chand mera yahin pe hai chhupa chhupa hua

Ishq wala love
Hua jo dard bhi toh humko aaj kuch zyada hua
Ishq wala love
Ye kya hua kya khabar yehi pata hai zyada hua
Ishq wala love
Agar ye usko bhi hua hai phir bhi mujhko zyada hua
Ishq wala love

They slowed as Geet caressed his cheek softly, relishing his feel, with her knuckles.

Kyun aise hota
Jo milte tum ho jaate gum sath mere
Hote hote hoga samjhaye hum tham jaaye tum
O dil mere

Maan closed his eyes, her touch was mesmerising... the way she was caressing him. Everything she said, she did just oozed unconditional love.

Mano ho asmaan ki koi pari
Katre-katre me hai pyaar bhara
Meri kismet mein toh tha bas andhera
Par kis ibadat ka tohfa hai yeh
Ke khuda ki sabse haseen banawat
Inayat mein mujhko mili

Toota zyada zyada tara jab gira
Zara zyada zyada maangu dil tera
Kabhi zyada zyada maane na dil ye sarphira

This was dream... for sure, for it was so surreal. Reality was never this beautiful, since childhood she got whatever she desired but this was beyond everything, every delight. Nothing was compared to this thing she was feeling right now. Her Maan was all she wished for n she could give everything... everything to spend a single second in his embrace, surrounded by his love.

Ishq wala love
Bada yeh dil naadan tha par aaj kuch zayada hua

No more did she worshiped the god who resided in the skies, she worshiped this man who there with her on this very earth n would always be by her side.

Ishq wala love
Jo khone ka tha darr tujhe pata nahi kyu zayada hua
Ishq wala love
Hua jo dard bhi toh humko aaj kuch zyada hua
Ishq wala love
Ye kya hua kya khabar yehi pata hai zyada hua
Ishq wala love
Agar ye usko bhi hua phir bhi mujhko zyada hua
Ishq wala love

They again increased the pace as the music picked up a little. The other couples momentarily halted to observe the divine pair moving flawlessly on the floor. The base of her saree swirled marvellously n the pallu flowed as they both circled all around the area. If she was fluid breeze, he was a steady knoll controlling her firmly, gliding her drift in compliance with his.

Surkh wala, sauz wala, faiz wala love
Ishq wala love
Hote hai jo love se jyada waise wala love
Ishq wala love

They were made for each other n the pull of their love encouraged other loving souls to join them. Ignorant to all maaneet remained in their small world, in heaven of each other’s arms.

Surkh wala, sauz wala, faiz wala love
Ishq wala love
Hote hai jo love se jyada waise wala love
Ishq wala love

A person watching all this was seething in anger n jealousy. The song ended
n the announcement was made for dinner. Both looked at each other not ready to break free from the bliss.

Geet was first one to step back, the dinner was being served n she wanted to check. Mai dinner check karke aati hu. She blushed n walked away.

Strangely what she did tonight was just blush n smile, blush n smile... save for the anger she showed over his open shirt buttons. Hayeee....!! He was so falling for that angel.

Maan sipped the drink n his eyes searched the faces for Geet but didn’t found her. He immediately got restless though decided to wait. After 5 minutes only his patience broke n he went in search for her. May be she would have gone to use the washroom n so he came to the corridor.

Hearing the tik tok of the heels he turned behind with a smile thinking it to be Geet but his face lost all colours seeing the one person he least expected.

Kya hua Maan. Maya asked sarcastically. Surprised to see me here. I was there only in the party but I guess you were busy somewhere else.

It’s not like that. Maan said coming out of shock though it was along the same line with what Maya said. He was himself incredulous how he didn’t notice her there was a time when he knew she was around just by the change in air.

Oh! If it’s not like that then... did you deliberately ignore me? Huh? Inviting me here to show that you have moved on. Maya hissed her voice coated with sheer jealousy.

Maan didn’t even know that she was coming but her words hurt him, he was not ready for this confrontation.

Here Geet was in washroom, wearing saree was not easy n managing it...uff even tougher. Correcting the plates she let out an exasperated sigh but then it all paid of really well, she relived the whole dance n remembered how Maan looked at her, the pure love reflected in those intense eyes.

Where are those promises Maan when you said you love me n would never love anyone else. Maya reminded venomously. When I was getting married you were asking me how I could do it. Now what?

She was right how could he? God! He broke his promise. He clenched his fist. You left me Maya, when the time came to prove your love you chose someone else. Maan barked trying to prove his innocence.

Oh please Maan... In what world you are living in? Accept it, you were a failure... n it’s not my fault if my dad wanted a better life for me n so I married the one who he thought was better for me.

You chose your dad over me Maya.

So what? Maya retorted. You also said you only loved me then what’s this? It was not acceptable for her to see he was getting success in his life. When she had left him he was in actual bad condition n that’s why she chose to marry a person of her dad’s choice, the person who was more rich n successful than Maan.

But now when he was doing all good n KC shares were all time high in market she was somewhere regretting her decision. They were childhood friends n she really liked him but after the coaxing from her dad she let go of him n now when she saw Maan with someone else, jealousy hit her hard.

This is few day show Maan. The girl you were dancing with so merrily, she would leave you too. Because you were, are n always be a failure.

Bas... Geet said coming in between Maan n the witch.

She was standing in the corner listening to everything, thinking Maan would say something to stop her but he stood there like a statue. Of course it hurt hearing that he loved someone else but she also knew that now he loved her n only her, she had seen it in his eyes time n again. N while he stayed mum listening to all that crap she couldn’t because she knew he was not at fault, her Maan could never be at fault.

What do think of yourself? You will say anything to anyone.

Excuse me ms. whoever you are... You can’t talk to me like this.

Aur tum jisse chaho jaise baat karo. Geet said, her eyes spitting fire.

Geet please stay out of this. Maan said not wanting to make the situation worse.

Maan sir yeh aapse kaise baat kar rai hai...

It’s not your concern how am talking to him. It’s between us. Maya interrupted. N what I said was no way wrong, the soon you understand the better. This man is a failure, a curse.

Shut up! Geet shouted.

No I won’t. What will you do? Maya stated not in a mood of giving up. His mom-dad died, then his grandma. Geet closed her eyes knowing the impact of these words on the man behind her. I don’t know how KC survived but it will also end soon. Whatever he touches becomes dead, HE IS JINXED.

Enough. Geet’s patience gave away n gritting her teeth she raised her hand to slap Maya but instead Maan caught it n turned her around, then she felt the sting on her own cheek. Her mind went numb, did he just....

She looked at him with teary eyes, not able to believe he slapped her.

Her chin trembled in indication of the coming tears while her eyes accused him. His hand was still in mid air when Geet ran away. Maya smiled slyly then shaking her head she also left from there.
